Mildred Marie Hansford Gray

Mildred Marie Gray, 77, of Commerce, formerly of Sulphur Springs and Celeste, died at 9:00 AM, August 10, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services are at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burns officiating. Burial follows at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Born on Mary 17, 1930, in Greenville, she was the daughter of Samuel L. Hansford and Vera Thompson Hansford. She was married to Howard Monroe Gray on July 7, 1950. She worked many years in the restaurant business and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Vice and husband Benny Vice of Sulphur Springs and Carolyn Smith and husband David Smith of Duncanville; son Dennis Gray and wife Susan Gray of Greenville; brothers Bobby Hansford and wife Wanda Hansford of Greenville and Howard Hansford and wife Betty Hansford of Kingston; sisters Vonda McClure and husband Leroy McClure of Caddo Mills and Patsy Arrington and husband Delbert Arrington of Campbell; sister-in-law Jo Dickeson of Greenville; very special niece Jenny Hunter of Rockwall; very special friends Penny Valentine and Mitch Valentine of Tiara; several special nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was "Mama Number Two" to many who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lillia Measles, in 2006.

Pallbearers are David Smith, Benny Vice, Jody Pierce, Matthew Smith, Chris Burns, and Brent Vice.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 13, 2007, at the funeral home.
