Mrs. C. I. Holloway
Mrs. C. I. Holloway, 64, beloved resident of the White Rock community, died at her home there at 6:00 AM Thursday, following an illness of about two weeks' duration. Mrs. Holloway was apparently in splendid health until her recent illness and her death came as a surprise to her friends and loved ones.
Mrs. Holloway was born in Alabama on September 17, 1867, and had lived in Texas for the past fifty-five (thirty-five) years. Upon coming to Texas from Alabama, she settled at Royse City where she resided for five years, moving there to Forney, where she remained for about twelve years. She later moved to Farmersville, where she resided a few years and came to Hunt County more than ten years ago and had since been a prominent resident of the White Rock community.
Professing faith in the Master when she was thirteen years of age, Mrs. Holloway united with the Baptist Church and lived a devout Christian life. She was ever ready to serve the Master and was one of the most active church workers of her community. She was a devoted wife and mother and a splendid neighbor, being loved and admired by all who knew her.
Surviving are three sons, Tipp Holloway and Clem Holloway and a son by a first marriage, Luther Wilkerson. Eight grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: T. J. Nall of Hamlin, W. C. Nall of Sudan, J. A. Nall, M. L. Nall, J. R. Nall of this city, and Mrs. J. R. Trammell of Abilene. Her husband preceded her in death thirty years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, March 20, 1931, at the Tidwell Church, conducted by the Rev. H. T. Money, of this city. Burial will be in Money Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be J. R. Barker, Claud Pierce, J. L. Wooten, Earl Spray, O. F. Furlong, and Horace Spray.
