Mrs. Fanny Tatom Nelson

After an illness of about twelve months, suffering from an ingrown toenail, resulting in the amputation of the toe and finally serious bodily sickness, Mrs. Fanny Nelson died at her home in this city at 5:10 on Friday, April 19, 1907, at aged forty-eight years, six months, and twenty days.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 11:00 AM, Sunday, April 21, 1907, with burial at Celeste Cemetery at Hogeye.

Mrs. Nelson was the daughter of G. W. Tatom and Sarah Tatom, and was born on October 29, 1858, two miles east of Celeste, in which community she lived until her death.

She was married to Dr. W. A. Nelson on December 3, 1882. At the age of fourteen, she became a member of the Methodist Church, and was a consistent, faithful member unto the last expiring moments. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Celeste and also of the Rebekah Lodge.
