Myrle Howard Jackson

Funeral services for Myrle Jackson, 97 of Leonard, were held Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Leonard with the Rev. Willie Johnson and the Rev. Jim McIntire officiating. She died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Homestead of McKinney in McKinney, Texas. Burial followed the services at Pike Cemetery in Pike, Texas. Pallbearers were Scott Jackson, Donny Cox, John Jackson, Shannon Stephens, Gary Cox and Danny Allison.

She was born July 14, 1910, at Pike, Texas, daughter of John Edgar Howard and Lucy Ann Williams Howard. She married W. A. Jackson on January 2, 1936, at Rockwall, Texas.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leonard and a long-time volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital in Bonham.

She is survived by her son, James R. Jackson and wife of Leonard; son, Billy R. McGee and wife Pat McGee of Allen; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Jackson of Garland; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sons, Eual Dean Jackson, Johnny William (Bill) Jackson, Fred Jackson, and Chester Jackson; sisters, Alvis Spradlin and Johnnie Nell Cox; and a brother, Claude Howard.

The family visitation was held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard Monday, September 24, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Pike Cemetery Association or to the First United Methodist Church in Leonard.

Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard had charge of arrangements.
