Myrtie Rachel Isham

Commerce – Services for Myrtie Rachel Isham, 95, of Commerce who died Aug 8 in Oak Manor Nursing Homes will be 2 p.m. today in Jones Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Sullivan Cemetery, Hunt County.

Mrs. Isham was born July 31, 1897, in Hunt County, the daughter of Sampson Ely and Kizzie Elizabeth Gilbreath Hudson. She married Flemon O. Isham in June of 1938 in Hunt County. She moved to Commerce in June of 1972 from Campbell. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Campbell.

Survivors include two sons, Charlie Rachel of Fort Worth and Willie Mack Rachel of Wichita Falls; four daughters, Ruby Jewel Nolan of Waco, Hettie Neill Armistead of Mesquite, Thelma Idumia Holey of Lone Oak and Bettie Jean Kennedy of Commerce; one stepson John Isham of Campbell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and one daughter.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Holley, Charles Nolan, Jerry McGehee, Wayne Armistead, Chet Armistead and Charlie Isham. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Isham.

Jones Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
