Preston Lee Johnson, 48, of Commerce died March 1, 2007, in a Tyler hospital. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ with Supt. Michael C. Williams officiating. Burial is in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Born Nov. 20, 1958, in Greenville, he was the son of John A. and Pauline Whytus Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver and was a member of Greater Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ.
Survivors are three sons, Christopher Jerrod Johnson (Sasanqua), Preston Dewayne Johnson and Jason B. Johnson (Cristina), all of Dallas; three brothers, James A. Johnson of Greenville and Larry J. Johnson (Barbara) and Billy G. Johnson of Dallas; two sisters, Loretha M. Dixon and Virginia A. Flournoy (Babe), both of Greenville; and six grandchildren.
His father and one brother preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home of Greenville.
