COMMERCE — Funeral services for Richard “Richy” Derek Iles Jr., 21, of Commerce is at 2 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel with David Gibson officiating. Interment follows at Rosemound Cemetery with Kameron Kyle Fults, Matt Romans, Ty Romans, Brett Miller, Brandon Rainbolt and Cody Wingfield serving as pallbearers. Carson Barnes is honorary pallbearer.

Visitation is from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Iles went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2007, in Commerce.

Born Feb. 4, 1986, in Webster, he was the son of Carin Sue Chapin and Richard Derek Iles Sr. Richy, as he was called by friends and family, enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.

Richy also loved politics and debating about anything. He graduated from Commerce High School in 2005. In high school Richy found his passion in filming sporting events. This continued into his adult life as he filmed the Commerce High School sports.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. He loved and knew the Lord.

Richy is survived by his mother of Greenville; his father of Austin; half brother Aaron Iles of Bogota; grandparents Charlotte Chapin of Commerce, Dr. Barney Iles and the late Sally Iles of Houston and Barbara Iles of Houston; great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chapin; two aunts, Amy Chapin Doster of Commerce and Nancy Iles Gruener of Houston; two uncles, Eddie Jack Chapin Jr. of Commerce and David Iles of Houston; and cousins Evan Clay Chapin, Ethan David Doster and Lindsey Gruener.

He is joined in heaven by his grandfather, Eddie Jack Chapin Sr.; great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James D. Atkins and Mazie Patteson; an uncle, Don Iles; and infant cousin Hannah Munroe Chapin.
