Robert Elmer Harrison Jr.
Robert Elmer Harrison, Jr., 89, of Celeste died November 11, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Celeste First Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. The Rev. Bob Layman will officiate.
Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, November 13, 2007, at the funeral home.
Born February 3, 1918, in Merit, he was the son of Robert Elmer, Sr. and Pauline E. Greer Harrison. A 1937 Celeste High School graduate, he was married to Ruby Elizabeth Glasscock on November 1, 1939, in Kingston. Mr. Harrison was a retired aircraft assembler for E-Systems. He was a member of Celeste First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Celeste; two sons, Kenneth Harrison and wife Dora Harrison of Celeste and Mark Harrison of Celeste; daughters Peggy Milner of Celeste, Carolyn Patterson and husband Jimmy Patterson of Leonard and Sandra Hughes and husband Jack Hughes of Crestview, Florida; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Harrison and Loyd A. Harrison; and sisters Edith Moore and Betty Jean Pugh.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
