CADDO MILLS — Thomas Alvie Vaughan, 85, of Greenville died March 13, 2007. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Vansickle Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Ratliff officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.

Born Nov. 10, 1921, in Josephine, he was the son of William Jessie and Margaret Thurman Vaughan. He married Wilma Fae Green on June 19, 1942.

Mr. Vaughan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a postmaster. He was a member of Vansickle Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Freda Vaughan of Caddo Mills; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Sammy Thomason of Greenville; son-in-law David Morgan of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren Julie and Scott Decker of Caddo Mills, Eric and Clay Morgan of Chester, Va., Kurtis and Misty Vaughan of Caddo Mills and Kaden Vaughan of Caddo Mills; and great-grandchildren Brittany, Ashley and Michael Decker of Caddo Mills, Milise and Kruz Vaughan of Caddo Mills.

His parents; a daughter, Mary Morgan; and 12 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home of Caddo Mills.
