Vada Lee Ivy

Greenville Herald Banner
Sunday, May 6, 2007

Vada Lee Ivy, better known as Mama I, was born March 10, 1914 in Rains County. She went home to be with her Lord on May 4, 2007.

She was married to Willie Ivy, who preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Ivy was a Godly mother of four children and their spouses: Charles and Doris Brumit; Joe and May Bowman, Jerry and Annette Ivy, and Denny and Margaret Winters.

As a grandmother of 10 grandchildren, her love and devotion to the Lord was made known to each one individually. Her 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren knew Mama I’s love for her Lord Jesus Christ and her love for each one of them. Mama I’s devotion to the Lord gave her many opportunities to witness and tell everyone about God’s salvation, grace and mercy.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Brian Ivy, Eric Powell, Collen Winters, Cory Winters, Chris Brumit, Terry Brumit and Reed Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Burl Pruitt, J.J. House, Jarmin Harris, Paul Cannon, Alvin Dennis, Bobby Nutt, Don Isenburg, Marion Phillips and Billy Pritchett.

Visitation is at the Lynch Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007. Funeral services are at Freedom Church of God in Emory at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007.

Interment will be in the Lynch Cemetery in East Tawakoni.
