COMMERCE — William Newton Rackley, 69, of Commerce, died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will in Rosemound Cemetery. Born in Caddo Mills on Dec. 31, 1936, he was the son of William Samuel and Claudia Mae Bradshaw Rackley. He married Lillie Mae Garmon on April 10, 1959, in Commerce. He was a supervisor and sheet metal mechanic and enjoyed church and wood crafts. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and song leader as long as he was able. He is survived by children Sammy Rackley and wife Paula of Cooper, Donna Lunsford and husband Danny of Commerce, Carla Richardson and husband Norman of Commerce, Donald Teague and wife Vickie of Gilmer, Patrick “Pat” Curtis and wife Dawn of Cooper and Jean Clements; a sister, Linda Rutherford of Weatherford; a brother, Michael “Mike” Rackley; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a daughter, Elizabeth Rackley Perkins.

Pallbearers are Rodney Lowrie, Kenny Lowrie, Boone Lowrie, Reece Lowrie, Ray Hunter and Doug Riffle. Honorary pallbearers are Cloyce Robnett, Jim Lowrie, Larry Pope, Gary Sanders, James Teel, Bob Monday and Anson Lowrie. Visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
