WOLFE CITY Lela Payne, 94, of Wolfe City died Sunday in Smith Nuring Home . Graveside services are at 11 a.m. today at Webb Hill Cemetery with Henry Edgeington officiating.
Miss Payne was born March 29, 1905, in Wolfe City; the daughter of Frank and Lottie Morman Payne. She was a foster mother and a seamstress with Whitemore Manufacturing. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Celeste.
Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Helen Payne of Dallas; sister-in-law, Verdis Payne of Wolfe City and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Frank Payne, Roy Payne and Herschel Payne; and two sisters, Hester Payne and Nona Spradling.
