Educational secretary John E. Roach in making report
to the Methodist Conference at Dallas last week for the educational institutions
of this great church stated that "Wesley College has had the largest increase
in enrollment over the previous year of any of the five schools under the
North Texas Conference supervision.
The five Methodist schools are: SMU at Dallas,
TWC at Fort Worth, Kidd-Key at Sherman, Southwestern at Georgetown, and
Wesley College at Greenville. And of these, Wesley has shown the
greatest gain and report further shows that the present editor of the SMU
paper is a Wesley product, James Lovell, and another Wesley graduate, Emma
Lee Brown of Nevada, is editor of the Texas Woman's College annual and
that McMurray college, of Abilene, has for four years had a Wesley College
product as editor of that school journal while the students generally are
making good universities.
It was also shown that ten percent of the ministers
in the North Texas Conference have been students of Wesley College.
Home people who have contributed to Wesley College
and ex-students everywhere will be pleased to know that Wesley College
holds this fine record in the North Texas Conference. (November 10,
