Descendants of Conrad Bierschwale & Elizabeth Fust
According to an article in "Rivers, Ranches, Railroads, & Recreation" contributed by Milton Bierschwale: "Conrad and Elizabeth Fust Bierschwale had been married in the province of Hanover, Germany, in 1843. They came to Texas in late 1852, with four children. First, they settled at Fredericksburg, where Conrad built a flour and grist mill on Baron's Creek. Water pressure was insufficient, so he sold the mill on November 9, 1854, to Nicholas Zink. The family then settled near New Braunfels. On November 18 1858, Conrad purchased 198 acres of land near Comfort. This was sold October 20, 1859. The family was in Dallas during the Civil War. At some time they went to the State of Missouri, where Conrad died in 1865. Elizabeth and her sons and daughters returned to live in Comfort, Texas." 1-- Conrad BIERSCHWALE, b. about 1820 in Germany, d.1865 in MO.
