DESCRIPTION: Bungalow style home with small entry porch on the front of the house; pitched roof

HISTORY: Fritz Herms built this house by himself over a period of years. He and his wife, Marguerite, reared three children here. The home was sold in 2003 to Abel Gutierrez, and then to Betty Mangum in 2004. She made the first changes to the house.The house was built with hollow tiles, commonly used after WWII.

The original house consisted of three bedrooms, one bath, large living room and dining room. The foundation was pier and beam. Walls are of cinder blocks filled with solid concrete. The original hardwood floors are in place. Original wide, long leaf pine rafters from the old roof decking was recycled for use in the kitchen which was added by Ms. Mangum after she purchased the house from Abel Gutierrez in 2004. She also added a master bedroom, bath and office.
