OLDE TOWNE/EBENSBERGER LUMBER
233-265 S. MAIN

DESCRIPTION: Two story frame.

HISTORY: On the site where the main part of Olde Town now stands there was once a lumber yard owned by the C.O. Ebensberger family. Carl Oscar Ebensberger, German immigrant and his wife, Julia Schwope lived reared there family upstairs in a two story building at the front of Lot 133. Downstairs and in the back they operated a lumber yard. Later there son Berthold "Pat" took over the business. The other children moved on to other things. The second story is no longer on the building, in fact the building may have been replaced by the present structure; the space is now occupied by Olde Towne, a shopping center owned and operated by the Lloyd Holekamp and his son, Paul. The building where the store and home were has been rented to various businesses. One we will recognize recently is the office supply store, Tamarac.
