CORYELL-WALKER HOUSE/TEXAS HERITAGE BANK
1208 S.Main, Boerne

DESCRIPTION: Two story rough cut limestone; mansard roof; broken face limestone lintels and sills; brick chimney. Once had wooden galleries around both stories. Several additions and changes made throughout the years.

HISTORY: The house was built around 1904 by W.F. Hayes and was sold to George and Adele Coryell in 1916. The Coryells lived in the house--which was at that time a good distance west of Main Street (the San Antonio Road) and sat on 12 acres--until they moved back to San Antonio in 1930.

The Coryell's sold the house and their business-- a Boerne grocery store --to Jake Babbitt, who later sold it to George Walker in 1953. [Note: Those growing up in the 1930's remember the Coughran family living here. It is possible that the Coughran's owned the house between the Coryell's and the Babbitt's.]
