MINNICH-WINN CABIN
37037 IH-10 W, Boerne
DESCRIPTION: Two room, log cabin with opening between the two rooms, known as the dog run.

HISTORY:

HISTORY: Ignatz Minnich and his wife, Barbara, with their two oldest children, Gustav and Anna arrived in America from Germany in 1850. They landed at Indianola, Texas and came to Wasp Creek where they stayed a few years with friends from Germany, the Domier family. In 1856 they purchased land from Ferdinand Herff a mile west of Boerne where they built a small log cabin. The cabin is still standing.- from an article by Mrs. Otto Rahm published in the Boerne Star, Feb. 15, 1962.

The cabin fell into dis-repair over the years. In 1983 Marvin Becker and his wife, Elsie Rahm Becker reconstructed the East side of the cabin. Mrs. Becker was a descendant of the original owner. In 1987 the property was purchased by Murray and Barbie Winn who did more re-constructing on the cabin by using original fallen logs. It is now in excellent condition and is used as a guest house by the Winn family.
