This is a White Cemetery
From Marquez go east on Highway 7 approx 1 ½ miles to CR 426. Turn right on CR 426 and go about 500 feet to Bernard Martin’s driveway on the right. At the end of the driveway turn left and go across cattleguard. Go behind house, past barn and then follow fence approx. 0.30 miles to another fence, turn to right through gate and go approx 100 yards to another gate.
The following is taken from Leon County Cemetery Records Published in 1966:
“There is only one stone with Hillary & Henrietta McDaniel on it, a cedar tree at the head of William Robert & Marsha McDaniel’s graves; the rest unmarked. There are 4 unmarked children’s graves, and those of 2 colored servants, a man and a woman. This cemetery is located near Marquez, off Highway 7.”

Researched by Mrs. Winnie Payne & Mrs. Billie Douthitt and added to by Mrs. Maud Peoples.
Mr. Durant attempted to survey this cemetery in October 1982. He talked to Mr. Martin who owns the land where it is located. Mr. Martin told him that there is one grave marker, that of Hilly McDaniel.
Mr. Payne and Mrs. Peoples are deceased and Mrs. Douthitt’s whereabouts unknown. Therefore this listing can not be confirmed. It is reprinted because some one had reason to believe these people are buried here in unmarked graves.
2000 – There are three tomb stones and the cemetery is enclosed by a chain link fence, which looks to be about 30 feet by 40 feet. There is a sign on this fence that says William McDaniel Family Cemetery Dedicated May 1986, the cemetery was cleaned up at one time but it is starting to grow up with weeds and underbrush again.
