Morgan Gravesite, 15 Dec 1864,"This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Red River County, Texas. GPS COORDINATES: Datum WGS84: 33 Deg 36.752N, 95 Deg 02.092W. This is mentioned in CLARKSVILLE TIMES 31 Jan 1977 issue and mentions a burial on what is now the American Legion Post #45 grounds or on the present day fairgrounds. Upon surrender of title to the land to the American Legion, there was a stipulation that the site be beautified. A picture in the paper of this date shows a concrete pad with a pipe railing at the site. We spent a couple of hours trying to find this burial site on 15 Oct 2000 and had no success. Later on 5 Mar 2001 we were sucessful in locating it. It is on Hwy 82 just past the intersection with FM 1159 and on the south side of the road. The concrete pad is still there, however. We visited the site again on 30 Jan 2003 and took the GPS readings. As of 31 Dec 2003 the old Crepe Myrtle bushes are starting to re grow on the site."
