Veech Cemetery, 17 Sep
1853, "This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant
of Red River County, Texas. GPS COORDINATES: Datum WGS84: 33
Deg 34.448N, 95 Deg 04.466W. From the intersection of Hwy 82
and FM 909, take FM 909 3.1 miles south. There is a pasture gate
on the right and the cemetery is 2/10 miles west across the pasture
under a stand of trees. A deed dated 29 Jan 1872 and filed for
record on 29 Jan 1872 in Book CH Vol S Page 277 conveys 2 acres
of the Lucy A. Collum survey from E. A. Ellett to Veech Cemetery.
The oldest marked grave is that of an Infant Son of T. L. and
S. Veech who was born and died on 17 Sep 1853. This cemetery
was surveyed by Lawrence and Sue Dale on 15 Feb 1999. We visited
the site again on 7 Dec 2003 and took the GPS readings."
