I am researching the family of Richard Lee HOLLAND b. 1848 AL. m. Ida TRAMEL AUG. 1, 1896 Ellis co. TX. Lee HOLLAND died Dec. 1, 1903 near Kanawha Red River co. TX. At this time he was said to have been a preacher. I hope someone has info on this family. I will be glad to share any info that I have.

I am trying to locate any information on a Henry Freer and his Wife Mary Freer I know she is buried in Red River co. I do not know where I suppose that Henry is buried there also. Henery had a first wife by the name of Milinda Keyes or keys Mary was also married before also she was a whitney. The Detherrows married a Freer (my grand father) and the Detherrows were from the perkins lines.

My g-g-grandfather was Dunwoody CAIN. He had a sister named Clarissa CAIN. Dunwoody married Katherine Trapp and Clarissa married William Simpson Trapp. They were born in GA and migrated to Delta Co., TX. One of Dunwoody's sons was Edward F. Cain, my g- grandfather. The rest of Dunwoody's children are George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Henry Burton, Robert Stevens, John, Charles and Tarrant (a half brother) and all the children were born in Atlanta, GA. Ed F. Cain's eldest child was George Washington Cain, born 1890, and my grandfather. Would appreciate information. Sylvia Harkins

I am researching my grandfather William (Willie,Bill)WINGATE married Pinkie YOUNG 22 Dec 1908 in Johson Co TX and moved to Red River Co. They were listed on the Red River Co 1910 Census. JONES and Fannie May DAVIS; They were married 05 March 1928 in Clarksville Red River County Texas; At the time of the marriage My father and his family (The Dudley JONES family) lived in McCurtain County OK. located just across Red River, The JONES family lived on the Sam Tobbler farm (they all worked for him on this farm). Names of the Dudley Jones Family are : Dudley JONES Wife Lendy NEWTON Children born of this union as follows. Houston E. JONES Fletcher Forrest JONES m: Thelma Gladys GLOVER Cecil O. JONES (This is my father) m: Fannie MAY DAVIS LEWIS CAROL JONES (L.C. JONES) M: Zula PEELER Clyde Otis JONES Cecil O. JONES and wife Fannie MAY worked for Charlie Westbrooks in the 30's, it was on a farm I believe to have been located in Fulbright Red River County Texas, My sister Carline (Carleen) was born in Fulbright Red River County , Texas on 15 March 1933, I believe Dad once told me he was a Mule Skinner for Roy Buckhannan in the 1940's, I was born 17 October 1944 in Ackworth Red River County Texas, story was that a Cemetery was located just across the road from the house I was born in. Is there anyone who can tell me the name of that cemetery? I would sure appreciate it. The Jones family also lived in Hooks Texas, I believe that to be in Bowie County, They worked for a plant that made Airplane parts as well as the Bombs I assume , this being during World War II. Could someone poss. know My JONES? Please let me hear from you. Fletcher JONES owned JONES Welding And Machine Shop in Clarksville Red River County Texas, He raised a family there and died there in 1959. Is there anyone out their that may have known him, I would love to hear from you, Maybe someone could help me find some of his children. Maybe some kind soul may have a picture of him that they will share with me(his neice). I really am against a brick wall, see my Dad never visited with his brother's. We moved from Red River County in 1948,making a new home in Dumas, Texas, My Uncle (Lewis Carol JONES lived in Dumas and worked for the Smelter, MY Dad (Cecil O. JONES) worked two weeks at that Smelter then obtained a position with Shamrock Gas and Oil. We stopped seeing Lewis (I do not know why). The last time I saw him was in 1957 when Grandfather Dudley JONES died. I would appreciate any bit of information (good or bad) on my family. Thank you Evelyn

Looking for info on a Frank HARVELl. He married Jenny Lou MOORE in 1897 in Cuthand, Red River, Texas. They had a daughter named Martha HARVEL. Jenny died May 18, 1898, so I presume she must have died giving birth to Martha. Would like to know what happened to Frank and Martha and hear from any descendents of either.

The 1870 census lists John O'BANNON (age 44, b. MS) and his wife Frances (age 38, b. MS) as residents of Red River County with their four children: William (age 15, b. LA), Joseph (age 8, b. LA), Frances (age 3, b. TX), and Julia (age 2, b. TX). Does anyone have any more info on this family? I'm having trouble grafting them onto the O'BANNON family tree.

I am looking for information about the parents of my 3rd GGrandfather, Ambrose Hudgens. I believe they were Jacob Hudgens, B 1780 in S.C. and D 4/18/1833 in Arkansas and Elizabeth Robinson, B and D unknown. Their son was Ambrose Hudgens, B 2/4/1814 in Spanish Territory (now Red River County), he died on 6/13/1889 in Lincoln Co. Arkansas. This is all I have on Ambrose's parents so I would like anything else, anyone might have.
