I am looking for the decendants of William Green SMITH and E S LASSITER. William Green born 12 Oct 1826 TN, married E S LASSITER 1850 Calloway Co.,KY. First known born was William R. SMITH 11 Sept 1852 Calloway Co., KY. Nancy Virginia SMITH born 27 or 29 Sept 1855 also in Calloway Co., KY. Other children were ( I only know intials and approximate date of birth) J S SMITH b: abt 1859 TX (female) J S SMITH b: abt 1862 TX (male) J R SMITH b: abt 1966 TX (male) Info was found on the Washington Co., AR census information but shared information suggests that the decendants of William Green SMITH returned to and settled in Red River Co., TX area. Looking for information on F E (Francis Emmett) SMITH. He was in the Rosalie area in early 1900s; later moved to Ralls. He married Ida Levinia Thorne HOLMES.

Would appreciate any information about CRAIN's in Red River County, past or present. My great grandfather's brother, James B. CRAIN b. 1807, KY, moved from Missouri to Lamar County in 1866. His grown sons, James Henderson CRAIN b 1837, TN and John K. CRAIN b ca 1841, TN settled in Clarksville, Red River County about the same time. John K. married Susannah WHITEMAN. Their children were Elizabeth, Sally, Leon, Tottie, John K. Jr., Charles, and Bunyan. Bunyan was living in Avery as late as 1947. James B. CRAIN's daughter, Tennessee b 1845, MO, married Squire WHITEMAN. James Henderson ("Pony") CRAIN married Permelia Jane WHITEMAN b 1847, Illinois. Their children were William Henry b 1868, Sarah Charlotte, and James Amos. Sarah Charlotte b Jan. 1870 died 18 Feb.1870 , James Amos b Jan. 1871 died March 1871. Permelia died March 1871. The following year James Henderson died of pneumonia leaving William Henry CRAIN as the sole survivor. James Henderson and John K. served together in the 3rd Missouri Calvary CSA Co. D. James Henderson was captured and imprisoned at Gratiot Prison for some time during the Civil War. I would like to locate his grave and that of John K. also, if possible. Neither are listed among the Confederate soldiers buried in Red River County. Family records indicate that James Henderson CRAIN was living in and died in Clarksville. Due to conditions in those days, I believe he would have been buried in Red River County, most likely with his wife and children who proceeded him in death. I believe Permelia's father was Amos WHITEMAN due to the child named James Amos. Amos WHITEMAN was an early pioneer who established the Whiteman Chapel community. Does anyone know when he died and where he is buried? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

Looking for info on the SPIRES family as they moved from Tennessee into northern Texas. This was about 1902-1907. They left Texas and came to Illinois. William Robert was the father, with sons Fred, Crockett, John, Sam, Matthew, Tom, daughters Annie who married a WATTS, Barsha. There also was a daughter Mary Jane who died somewhere along the way in about 1900-1902. Would very much like to find the details on Mary Jane, as would welcome any on the rest of the family.

I am looking for information about Jacob Hudgens and his wife Elizabeth ROBINSON, They went into "Spanish" territory in the early 1800's. They had at least one child, Ambrose, who was born CA 1814. After the Alamo battle they fled into Arkansas, settling near Pine Bluff. If anyone has any information about them, please contact me.
