Mrs. Susan I Bunt, being duly sworn, says: My age is 54 years. I am the widow of Zebah Bunt. He died near Glen Rose on the 23 day of December 1879. I have not since remarried. I was married to him by Judge Pond on the 20th day of February, 1848, in the County of Coosa State of Alabama. Neither of us had previously been married. My maiden name was Miss Susan I McDonald. He enlisted on or about the _____ day of_______, 1846 at Rockford as a Private in the Company ________ commanded by Captain Henry W. Cox in the Infantry Regiment of the State of Alabama in the war with Mexico, and served in said war, in said company and regiment, until about the ____ day of__________, 184__, when he was honorably discharged at Mobile, Alabama. Since then he and I have resided as follows: In Coosa County Alabama until 1870, Moved to Texas, Milam County lived there one year & then moved to my present residence Somervell County Texas, where Mr. Bunt died. A Land Warrant was issued about the year 18____ to_______________ on account of his said military service. His discharge is eather lost or destroyed as I cannot find it among his papers. Mr. Bunt received a Land Warrant but do not remember the date it's receipt. I hereby apply for a pension and appoint R.A. Burton, of Washington, D.C., my attorney, with full power of subsistution to prosecute this claim. My Post Office Address is Glen Rose county of Somervell State of Texas and my actual residence is about four miles N.E. of Glen Rose, Texas.

Also personally appeared Scott Milam aged 44 years and (unreadable) aged 50 years, whose Post Office Addresses are Glen Rose County of Somervell State of Texas, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being by me duly sworn, say that they have known the said Mrs. Susan I Bunt for 15 years and for 15 years, respectively; that they were present and saw her sign her name (or make her mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe from the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with her, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be; and they further say that they are able to identify her as the person who was the wife of the identical Zebah Bunt who rendered the service alleged in the above application (in the company of Captain Henry W. Cox, in the regiment of_____________ in the war of 1846 by the following named facts and circumstances: That Mr. Zebah Bunt and his wife Susan I Bunt came to this county about fifteen years ago, say 1872 and have lived here until the death of Mr. Z. Bunt.
