Andrea S. Benavidez
From the January 20, 2006 issue of the Terrell County News-Leader, page 2:Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, January 20, 2006, at St. James Catholic Church for Andrea S. Benavidez, 87, who died Sunday, January 15, 2006, in Austin.
Rosary was Wednesday and viewing was Thursday. Burial will be at Santa Rita Cemetery. She was born in Sanderson on April 10, 1918, and was a homemaker.
Andrea married Protacio Benavidez in 1935 and was a lifelong resident of Sanderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Alicia Benavidez and a grandson, Ruben Picaso.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lou and Bill Doggett of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Rosa and Serapio Picaso, Sr., of Sanderson; one son, John Benavidez and wife Alice Pena of Austin; one sister, Memoria Flores of Odessa; two brothers, Cheny Saenz of Simi Valley California, and Enrique Saenz of Sanderson, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
