Enedina P. "Nettie" Gonzales

From the February 10, 2006 issue of the Terrell County News-Leader, page 2:

Fort Stockton - Funeral services were Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church here for Enedina P. "Nettie" Gonzales, 73, of Fort Stockton, a Sanderson native who died Thursday, February 2, 2006. Burial was at Fort Stockton Cemetery.

She was born on May 14, 1932, in Sanderson, and her son, Pecos County Attorney Jesse Gonzales, Jr., said she "loved Sanderson" and was "very proud" of her hometown.

She was a retired registered nurse and had lived in Fort Stockton since 1956. Her son said she "got her start" in her nursing career under Dr. J. W. Pate of Alpine and Sanderson and had fond memories of that time.

She married Jesus M. "Jesse" Gonzales, Sr., in Fort Stockton in 1962. "Nettie" was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church Guadalupanas and spent 38 years as the Pecos County health nurse.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Steve Perez of San Antonio, Jimmy Gonzales and Jesse Gonzales, Jr., of Fort Stockton, and Danny Gonzales of Rockwall; one brother, Pablo Torrez of Alta Loma, California; three sisters, Elena Seiber of Escondido, California, and Maria Vega and Alicia Huard of Leander, and nine grandchildren.
