Jose M. Torres
from the April 21, 2006 issue of the Terrell County News-Leader, page 2:THERMAL, CALIFORNIA - Graveside services were last month here for Jose M. Torres, 84, of Thermal, California, a native of Sanderson who died March 20, 2006, in Indio, California.
He was born in Sanderson to Domingo Torres and Guadalupe Gonzalez on September 2, 1921. Jose married Eloise Marrufo in Sanderson on October 27, 1946. He was a landscaper for 30 years and served in the US Army in World War II.
Jose is survived by his wife, Eloise of Thermal; a daughter, Mary Jo Loera of Thermal; two sisters, Eva Pena of Indio and Esther Ramirez of Palm Desert; two brothers, Octaviano Torres of Patterson and Emilio Torres of Coachella, and four grandchildren.
