Where We Are

Terrell is at the boundary of "west" Texas and "south" Texas on the Rio Grande just northeast of the Big Bend country. The county seat is Sanderson. The county was named for Alexander W. Terrell, a Texas state senator and representative, who served 16 years in the state government after the Civil War. Our southern border is with Mexico, followed by Brewster and Pecos counties in the west, Crockett County in the northeast and Val Verde County in the southeast.
