Perryville Cemetery

(Note: The Cemetery is Very Close to the Upshur-Wood Co. Line and appears to be in Wood County and is listed in Wood County on the Find-A-Grave Site and other Websites if you are looking for your ancestor. However it is in Upshur County.)

Pruitt Family in Perryville

This cemetery is located in the northwestern portion of Upshur Co. From Gilmer take Hwy 271 north. Take a left on Hwy 2088 at the Bettie community, go 13 miles to Perryville. Take a right on Hwy 852, go 2/10's of a mile. The cemetery is located between Perryville Baptist Church and Perryville Methodist Church.

The land for the cemetery was donated by John Madison Lawrence. The oldest grave marked, is Billy L Wray. The cemetery is well kept.

Blundell (1856 – 1881), John Adam Blundell Jr. (1858 – 1877), Mary Elizabeth Blundell born about 1861, David Solomon Blundell born about 1863, Harriet S. Blundell (1866 – 1942), Ida Bell Blundell born about 1868, James Francis Blundell (1868 – 1924), and Barry Frank Blundell born about 1870. On 27 Mar 1879 in Hill, Tx. he married Malinda Lizbeth Roberts (1833 – 1891). Following Malinda's death he married in Hill, Tx. on 3 Jan 1880 to Mary Elizabeth Williams (1864 – 1960). To this union was born Charlie Adams Blundell (1882 – 1977), Matthew Thomas Blundell (1885 – 1934), Benjamin Blundell born about 1888, Missouri E. Following his first wife's death in 1853 he married Martha Patsy Cassells Castle (1838 – 1870) and their children included Sarah Elizabeth Corbitt (1853 – 1881), Susannah Corbitt (1855 – 1909), James William Corbitt (1857 – 1933), Sebe Corbitt (1865 – 1940), Elbert Corbitt (1867 – 1949), Emma Emiline Corbitt (1867 – 1950) and Jeff Corbitt (1867 – 1902).   Per Ronald Wade - Ephraim Suber Fargason, born the son of Johnson Fargason (1771 – 1860) and Mildred (Millie) Hogg (1780 – 1857). Born on 29 Nov 1849 in Henry, Ga. he married Amanda Bivins (1823 – 1873) and their children included Georgia Fargason (1851 – 1930 married Lindsey), Cordelia Fargason (1856 – 1892 married Lawrence), Viola Fargason (1859 – 1896 married Lawrence) and William E. Fargason (1863 – 1939). Capt Co F 10th Georgia Cavalry of the Confederate States of America. On 18 Dec 1899 he applied for a Confederate Veteran's Pension.
