JoAnn "Mama Jo" Massey 
(March 11, 1932 - August 19, 2014) 

Funeral services for JoAnn “Mama Jo” Massey, 82, of Gilmer will be held 
10:00 A. M. Friday, August 22, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with 
Reverend Othell Laferney and Jerry Dugger officiating. Burial will follow 
at Morris Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Massey passed away on Tuesday, 
August 19, 2014 in Gilmer.

She was born on March 11, 1932, in Upshur County, Texas to John Bryan 
Lindsey and Verdie E. Smith Lindsey. “Mama Jo” was a homemaker and was a 
member of Faith Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and James McKinley, 
Marilyn and Chuck Blanchard, Carolyn and Jim Weber, JoEllen and Eddie 
McKinley all of Gilmer; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and her 
dear friend Moody Pool.

Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her husband Pete Massey, and a daughter, 
Ann Massey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6:00 to 
8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
