Vale, Derek John

Memorial services for Derek John Vale, 66, of Gilmer will 
be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Woodland Christian 
Church with the Rev. Paul Klaus and the Rev. Lisa Klaus 
officiating. Mr. Vale died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in 
Gilmer. 

Mr. Vale was born June 7, 1936, in Bristol, England, to 
Ernest and Edith Vale. He owned the Sterling Pattern Co. 
and was a member of the Woodland Christian Church. Mr. 
Vale was an avid fisherman. 

Mr. Vale is survived by his wife, Hilda of Gilmer; three 
sons and daughters-in-law, Nigel and Brenda Vale, Stephen 
and Marie Vale and Simon and Lori Vale, all of Longview; 
six grandchildren, Samantha, Mary, Lani, Trevor, Mitchell 
and Suzanna; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Iris 
Vale of Bristol, England; and several nieces and nephews.
