~  Calculate birth dates based on age at death from gravestones. This Web site will do the calculation for you.

~ Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The DAR library site where you can search for your ancestor's name.

~ Dick Eastman's Blog - Interesting Information for the researcher.

~ Fold3 - Another commercial site, specializing in military records.  Discount available if you're a member of Ancestry.

~ History Kat - Find reference links about any genealogy category

~ Maps - This is an excellent site for U. S. maps

~ My Virtual Reference Desk - Find reference links about any category you need--all in one place.

~ Orphan Train Heritage Society Association - information about Orphan Train riders and how to research them

~ Passenger Lists on the Internet - Olive Tree Genealogy page with links to many subjects besides passenger lists.

~ US GenWeb Archives - links to each state's archives web page.

~ Texas Genealogy Web (TXGenWeb) Project - links to each Texas county's web page.

~ US Immigrant Ships Transcription - If you have immigrant ancestors, this is a good site to begin trying to find their ships. Volunteers are transcribing passenger data and you can find information categorized by ship, by country of origin, or by port of entry.

~ Vital Records Information - This very comprehensive web site covers every state, county, and territory in the U.S. It has information on where to write for and the cost of birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, divorce decrees and more.
