The purpose of the organization is educational: to provide and maintain an organization for the study of historical and genealogical records, to collect and preserve these records in accordance with good archival practices, and to make them available for research in the Historical Research Center (HRC), Luling Public Library.


Historical Society Research Center hours:

Monday and Wednesday 1 PM to 5 PM
Tuesday and Thursday 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Friday 10 AM to 2 PM
Saturday - By Appointment Only

Volunteers will do quick look-ups in response to email and postal requests as time permits. Please Enclose a Self Addressed, Stamped Envelope.

The Research Center has a large number of both Caldwell County and non-Caldwell County records, books, and quarterlies on the shelves for public use. Microfilm of Texas Census, Lockhart newspaper, and available Luling newspapers are held for use of the public.

Queries are answered as time permits, a SASE is required.
Extensive research must be referred to an outside researcher, and a list can be provided.
