KSTA, "Coleman County's only
daily local news media," aired for the
first time May 1, 1948, owned by Coleman
County Broadcasting Company; Charles
South, H. H. Jackson, Alton Stewart and
Ross Bohannon. KSTA-FM was added
December 12, 1975. In 1977, the
station was purchased by Coleman County
Broadcasters, Inc.; Ross L. Jones, Don
Johnson, Ben A. Flynn, R. O. McCarty, and
Ray L. Parker.
Don Harmes joined
the firm in 1968 and has been General
Manager since 1979. Helen Wright is
Secretary-Bookkeeper; David Oxford,
Program Director; Randy Turner, News
Director; and Sharlene Taylor, Sales
Manager.
KSTA provides
news, weather, sports, entertainment and
on-the-spot reporting for Coleman and the
surrounding areas. A member of the
EBS, KSTA provides vital information
during weather alerts and coordinates with
local defense groups.
