Coleman Building Materials,
Inc., 910 South Concho Street, offers area
residents a full line of home and lumber
products. Established in the 1930's,
customer service and fair prices have been
the major goals.
Herman and
Flourine Garlington purchased Coleman
Lumber Company in 1952 and operated it
until 1966. At that time, Bill and
Joy Stephenson bought the business.
In 1971 an expansion program was
completed. A new metal building was
added for more sales area, and the size of
inventory was increased. In January 1984,
David and Ronda Skelton acquired the
company. Today a complete line of
paint, hardware, lumber, plywood,
paneling, plumbing, and kitchen cabinets
is offered.
Approximately 80
per cent of the customers are
do-it-yourselfers, remodeling or repairing
their homes. The other 20 per cent
is with building contractors, city,
schools, and churches. Coleman
Building Materials, Inc. is a Texas
Corporation and the officers are David
Skelton, President, Harold Skelton, Vice
President-Ronda Skelton,
Secretary/Treasurer. Employees
presently are Ella Blakely, Steve Larick,
Brenda Ford, Ricky Mendoza, Dale Perrie,
and Bobby Brooks. We would like to
thank some former employees for their
dedication in helping the business grow:
