The Lone Star Cemetery is reached by going about five miles northeast of Coleman on Texas State Highway 206 and turning right (east) on FM 2302.  After about a mile, turn right (south) down a county lane.  This lane at one time crossed Hords Creek and continued south, but it is not now in use and a locked gate has been placed across the road.  At this gate, walk about .2 mile and then a short distance into a pasture.  It is now located on the Steve Griffin place.

       At one time there was a school (Lone Star) and the cemetery.  The cemetery was fenced, but in 1932 there was a flood that washed many of the stones away and left others disarranged, making it difficult to re-establish the cemetery.  A few graves have been fenced by one family, but the others are scattered about where the cows graze.
