So often death certificates are full or errors.   It is very important to notice who the informate is.   In the case of L. W. Lee the informate is his wife who gave a mostly accurate account.   Some things that could be expanded on that might be interesting to someone doing research on L. W. Lee I will offer the following;

1.   Full name is Lawrence Washington Lee.

2.   Birthplace:   Howard county, Missouri.   His family moved from there to the next county south (Cooper county) when L. W. Lee was 6 years of age.   On the family farm in the south part of Cooper county is where he grew to manhood.   The closes town at the time I would say is, Pisgah which is not actually a town any longer having only a church and 2 cemeteries with memories of what once was.   Actual town today would be Prairie Home which is where L. W. Lee & Mary Ann Fryer married, November 1, 1859.

3.  Father:  Noah Green Lee, born: 1/16/1790, Kentucky and died 9/2/1851, Cooper county, Missouri.  Noah served in the War of 1812.

4. Mother: Sarah Harvey, born: abt 1796, and died the fall of 1859 at 63 years old, Cooper county, Missouri.  She was the daughter of William Harvey who was a very early day pioneer in Howard County history.   The farm of William Harvey is close to the town of Armstrong, northern part of Howard County.

5.  Notice that Captain Lee had been under the care of Dr. Dawson (V.V. doctor) since January 19th.

6.  Captain Lee as a Land Holder & Cattleman joined other cattlemen in the area to organize a group to combat cattle rustling.  This group organized at Valley View in 1875.   It was the forerunner of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association which was formed at Graham, February 15, 1887.

7.  Undertaker: J. W. Leazer along with his son, J. L. Leazer purchased a hardware, furniture and funeral parlor from Newton Brothers in 1915.   This business operated until 1938.

8.   The only things on this death certificate that I would challenge is the birth places of Captain Lee's mother and father.   Mrs. Lee gave on both their correct names and lists, Virginia as their birth place.   I believe this to be incorrect and will say both should be Kentucky.   L. W. Lee gave that information on his biographical sketch in 1890.
