Notes on James Jr by Louise Gillispie Stratton, Jan. 24, 1999:
James was called Junior George for many years, in fact until I was grown I thought that was his real name. Later he was called Jim. Jim worked for and retired from Texaco Incorporated as Administrative Assistant of International Marine Sales Dept. Jim lived in Slaton, Lamesa, and Plainview, Texas, New York City and Brooklyn, NY, Portugal, France, Hobart, OK and moved to Mount Dora, FL in 1994 and died there in August of 1994. He was cremated and sent to Lubbock, Texas where he was buried beside his father mother and sister, all preceded him in death. Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He sang in the choir which was his first love. He was a Board member of the Friends of the Library in Hobart, OK. A volunteer of Hobart Museum. Jim was in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Military Band. Always as he arrived at the edge of Hobart, Jim remarked "I'm getting home, it is so pretty here."
