Where We Are
Dawson County is located south of the panhandle region in the southern high plains, close to New Mexico and the county
seat is Lamesa, almost centered in the county. The counties around us, starting in the northwest and continuing
clockwise are
Terry,
Lynn and
Garza in the north,
Borden to the east and
Howard,
Martin and
Andrews in the south, with
Gaines finishing up in the west, between us and New Mexico.
