David “Dave” McDonald’s headstone in the Sweetwater Cemetery, Sweetwater, Nolan Co., TX shows dates of   1842-1923.  His wife,  Eveline, shows 1840-1924.

Eveline is the daughter of Wyatt Williams and Ruth Cobb.

Dave is the son of William McDonald and Elizabeth Grounds.

 

Dave's parents must have died before he was 8, and in census records, he is listed as McDaniel, Mcdonald, McDonnell.

His brother, Sever/Sevier, did change his name to McDonnell as did his children.

But Dave went by McDonald most of the time.

Some of his children stayed McDonald and some changed to McDonnell.

But Dave McDonald’s death certificates lists McDonald and their Headstone lists McDonnell with a different birth date than appears on his death certificate.
