in the northwest quadrant of Red River County, Texas. GPS COORDINATES:
Datum WGS84: 33 Deg 39.025N, 95 Deg 14.170W. This cemetery can
be reached by going southeast from Detroit on Hwy 82 about 2.5
miles, turn left or north onto a dirt road, CR 2127-S. The cemetery
is 2/10 of a mile on the left at the top of the first hill. This
was a family cemetery on the Edward Dean headright survey. The
oldest marked grave is that of Edward M. Dean who died 14 Feb
1842. There have been several new stones placed in the cemetery
for burials in the late 1800's. This cemetery was surveyed by
Lawrence and Sue Dale on 31 Jan 1997. This cemetery was visited
and pictures taken on 21 Jan 2003. We visited the site again
on 1 Jan 2004 and took the GPS readings. We also did a re-walk
of the cemetery checking for new burials and noting marker changes."
