Layfayette C. "Fate" CLEMENTS was a son of Dr. James Erley CLEMENTS and Joice Gemia NEWBERRY.   It is believed by some that he may have married Annie Mirtie UNKNOWN,  who after Fate's death married John Frank MORROW/MARROW, both buried at Willow Oak; submitted by Steven Earl Newberry

Based solely on dates and burial location, she is believed to be a daughter of Dr. James Erley CLEMENTS and Joice Gemia NEWBERRY
; submitted by Steven Earl Newberry

Clements, Mrs Rosie G
b. Sep 1857       d. Mar 1936
I strongly believe that this is Joice Gemia NEWBERRY Clements. Joice was born 1 Oct 1854 and died 08 Mar 1936 according to her death certificate. Born 1854 also matches most census information. Joice's death certificate also says she was age 81 years, 7 months and 8 days when she died. Joice apparently had many nicknames including Rosie, Josie and Dozey. On her 1 Oct 1870 Lee County, Alabama marriage license, she is listed as Joice NEWBERRY and Dr. James Erley CLEMENTS was listed as Doctor CLEMENTS; her father signed as Marion NEWBERRY and was the Rev. Francis Marion NEWBERRY, husband of Elizabeth Ann HOLT, who were living in Clay County, Alabama in 1880. Joice's name on her death certificate is shown as "Jossie Gemia CLEMENTS". In the 22 Jun 1880 census of Lee County, Alabama, she is enumerated as Joicey Clemons, age 25, wife of Doc Clemons age 30 and they were erroneously enumerated under the spelling CLEMONS; submitted by Steven Earl Newberry

Clements, Mrs Willeen Rushing

b. Feb 9, 1885     d. Sep 18, 1968

W/o W N Clements; William N. CLEMENTS was a son of Dr. James Erley CLEMENTS and Joice Gemia NEWBERRY. Prior to seeing this cemetery transcription I had that William N. CLEMENTS married Willeen R. UNKNOWN; submitted by Steven Earl Newberry
