Sand Springs Cemetery

Introduction

This is a visual trip through Sand Springs Cemetery, one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in the area. This documentation was done in Septembe and October of 2007 in hope of helping preserve and document the final resting places of the settlers and citizens of this area. Many of the temporary markers are rusting away and the grave sites will soon be lost, as many have already disappeared. The book by Mr. Robert Turbeville listing the names and grave locations about 7 or 8 years ago has been a great help to me, but many of these grave locations are already known only to the Lord. I believe there are about 1,500 pictures and several hundred unmarked graves that were not photographed. ...... Bill Scott

Note from Transcriber

The transcription of this cemetery was done from the original photographs taken by Bill Scott in 2007. There are pictures of several "Unmarked" graves identified only by number. I do not know the reason for the number but included it in the transcription. Respectfully submitted, Betty T. Miller.
