 The
Julia Smith Scholarship Fund was founded in December 2003 by students of Julia
E. Smith. They wanted to keep Mrs. Smith's legacy at Coleman High School and
knew this fund would be the avenue.
Many responded with contributions and we are very grateful for your
support. Scholarships are awarded at
Coleman High School's Senior Graduation Ceremony to worthy students pursuing a
College Level Mathematic or Educational Degree. We have given two scholarships
to date.
Mrs.
Smith spent thirty-three years teaching at Coleman High School. She made a difference in
so many lives. She believed in her
students and instilled in them that you can reach ANY goal with work and
perseverance. We agree with our Mother's philosophy and know this scholarship
fund will make a difference in many young people's lives. One of our goals is
to award four year scholarships.
We need your
help. Please share the vision with
us by making a contribution to this worthy fund. We will make a difference, but this can only happen with your
