Wife unknown. Came to Red River Co. ca. 1835, possibly with Benjamin
and Isaac Blanton. Believe he died in Red River Co. ca. 1850.
Possibly served in army of Republic of Texas in War for Independence.
Other Blantons may have married into BASHAM and McANEAR families
in Red River Co. Daughter, ALICE, born 1822 in Alabama, m. Nathaniel
VILLINES in Clarksville, Tx ca 1840. First son, Hezekiah VILLINES,
b. Clarksville 1844. Alice died in Arkansas ca 1852, and Nathaniel
then married her sister, Mary Blanton. John BLANTON'S wife, dob,
place of birth, and parentage unknown. Possibly related to Isaac

I am looking for the surnames THOMAS and BRANCH from this
county. My grandfather's name was Milliard Lawson Thomas and
he married Susan F. Branch, in Dawson County, TX. But I suspect
the Thomas family was also Hood County before Dawson. I know
the Branch family was. The Branch family also has a Cantrell
connection here. Would love to talk with anyone on either of
these lines.
Need information on Joseph Lee MATNEY. He married Sarah Jane
STILLWELL date and place is unknown but possible in Missouri.
They came to Texas about 1880-1889. They had a wagon train of
nine wagons, they came from West Plains, Missouri and settled
in Red River County and later settled near Whitesboro, Texas.
Sarah was born in North Carolina on the Cherokee Indian Reservation.
Joseph died near Whitesboro. They had the following children:
Eli, Elizabeth, Sophia, John, Willilam, Marcella, Thomas, and
Gidda. He later married another woman Bond

I'm tracing three branches of my father's family who moved
from North Carolina to Texas. Miles Edward FAUCETT (1835-1897)
was born in Orange County, NC. In 1859 he moved with his older
sister and her family to Red River County, TX. In 1860, he worked
as the overseer on his brother-in-law's farm. He served in Company
G of the 32nd Texas Cavalry during the Civil War. He married
Sarah J. GRIFFITHS (1843-1924), who was born in North Carolina
and died in Lamar County, TX, on 8 Jun 1865 in Lamar County,
TX. They are both buried in Blossom Cemetery, Blossom, Lamar
County, TX. They had children: 1) Lena I. FAUCETT (b. Apr 1866)
married William C. HOLLEY (b. Apr 1862) on 12 Jan 1890 in Lamar
County, TX. They had children Eddie (a girl) (b. Oct 1890), Nat
(b. May 1892), and William C. HOLLEY, Jr., (b. Feb 1895). All
these children were born in Texas. 2) Robert E. FAUCETT (FOSSIT)
(b. 1870 in TX) married Ida <UNKNOWN> (b. 1871 in NC) between
1902 and 1910. She had been married before to a Mr. HANCOCK and
had four children by him. This family was living in Lamar County
in 1910. 3) T. W. FAUCETT (b. 1872 in TX). 4) May Dell FAUCETT
(1873-1949) married Joseph Felix MABRY (1872-1953). They are
buried together in Blossom Cemetery, Blossom, Lamar County, TX.
5) Minnie B. FAUCETT (1875-1875) 6) Infant FAUCETT (1876-1876)
7) S. M FAUCETT (b. 1879 in TX) 8) Mabel FAUCETT (1885-1885)

I am researching the BLUNDELL family. William BLUNDELL moved
from La. to Red River Co., Tx in 1834 with his sons, William,
Jr. Francis, Solomon, John, and David. There were several daughters,
also. I am interested in hearing from anyone that would be a
decendent of William BLUNDELL or know of the family. Thank you.
I am looking for info on Henry Bailey GREENWOOD (1756-1835)
and his wife Nancy JARVIS (1753-1836) who were colonists in Montgomery
county which became Grimes County in 1846. In 1829 in RedRiver
County, their son Franklin Jarvis GREENWOOD (1804-1882) married
Mary Jane MONTGOMERY (1808- 1880), daughter of William MONTGOMERY.

name is James CASBEER. His brother came to Texas in 1838 and

Seeking information about George W. FOX and wife Fannie LNU.
They had a daughter Hazel Monette FOX, b March 7, 1911 at Bogata
TX or Blossom TX, also Jesse FOX, father of George W. FOX, also
W. J. FOX relationship not known. Hazel Monette FOX was my mother.
Any information about Mr and Mrs E. L. (Erbert and Pearl) LANCASTER
known to live in Asherton, TX in 1933,( may have lived in Lamar
or Red River Co.) would be very helpful. Pearl LANCASTER is believed
to be the aunt of Hazel Monette FOX . Was the town of Blossom
ever known as Blossom Prarie ?
Josiah ROBERTS and wife Dulcina POWELL, of Chickasaw Co.
MS, came to Red River Co. right after the Civil War, along with
their children: William Joseph, John T., Susan L., Elizabeth
C., Nancy, others. In RR Co., children married into BATEMAN,
CAGLE, MCLANE/MCLAIN. Lived in or around Bogata. Some descendants
are still there today. Will exchange info.
On 30 July 1857 in Red River County, James DOYLE married
Sarah SCALLORN. I believe this is my aunt Sarah who was born
in Claiborne Parish, LA in 1832. James Doyle apparently married
someone else a few years later. Did Sarah SCALLORN die? Were
they divorced? Were there children born to this couple? I would
like toknow what happened to Sarah SCALLORN DOYLE. Were other
SCALLORNs in Red River County?

I am looking for the parents of Walter S. THOMPSON who was
born in 1846 in Illinois or possibly Missouri. His parents were
born in Sweden per the 1880 Texas census. Walter married Lettie
WRIGHT, daughter of William Bacon WRIGHT, in Red River County,
Texas on September 21, 1871. Walter was shown as a dry goods
merchant on the 1870 Red River County census. I also can't locate
when and where Walter died. The family was in Dallas, Texas by
1900 and he wasn't listed on the census.
Seeking family of Stephen SNELL-Dr. & farmer (b.abt 1800
in NC; d, aft 1877) and Emily Ann YARBROUGH (b. 1812, Franklin
Co, NC; d. Lamar County, Texas . This couple were married in
1828 at Henderson Co, Tenn and had 8 children, including LD SNELL
Christopher Columbus SNELL. The family moved to Texas before
1850 as they showed up on the 1850 census in Red River County.
By 1880 they were in Lamar county because of new county line
draw.. LD Snell served in the Texas Confederate Cavalry and married
Mary Anne BURKS.

Son of John MARTIN, Sr. of GA. Cousin of William Harrison MARTIN
of Henderson County,TX and of Civil War fame.
Searching for information on Andrew Jackson PERSER. He was
in Red River Co. TX in 1846. He came to TX from MO and was in
Cass Co. TX by 1862. Any help appreciated.
